Live Oak is a great place to be and I am proud to be here.  This year will be my fourth year teaching transitional kindergarten. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, I lived in Modesto for 17 years.  I taught Kindergarten and First Grade for Modesto City Schools.  After graduating from California State University, Stanislaus, I taught third and fourth grade for Manteca Unified School District.  My husband and I have two grown sons, one of whom has special needs.  I like reading historical fiction and enjoy working in my yard.

My favorite hobbies are sewing decorative items for my home and searching through antique stores for the perfect accessory or piece of furniture.   My family time is a priority for me.  Being with my husband and sons is my favorite thing to do and I make every effort to spend time with them.  I enjoy teaching very much and love becoming acquainted with the families of my students.  Together, we become a team working toward a successful school year for their children.  I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and anticipate a fabulous year filled with lots of learning and amazing growth.  Thank you, for sharing your precious children with me this year!

Hello parents, my name is Stacy Sam and I am a co-teacher with Mrs. Vergara for Transitional Kindergarten.  I have taught preschool for the last 7 years in the city of Dublin. This year will be my first time teaching a TK class. My educational background includes a Child Development Degree and a Teaching Credential.

Teaching is my biggest passion in life. I enjoy working with children and watching them enjoy their childhood and school experiences. I am beyond excited and can’t wait to spend the year getting to know you and your beautiful families. I look forward to a year full of fun, and a lot of learning and growing!

Welcome to Kindergarten at Live Oak! I have been a part of the Live Oak staff since the school opened in 2007.  This will be my 21st year of teaching in the early elementary grades. I have taught Kindergarten, First grade and a K/1 combination class.  I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Spanish.   I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a BLAC & Spanish Supplemental from Cal State Hayward.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, watching NBA basketball, going to the movies and spending time with my family.

My favorite part of teaching is watching the children grow throughout the year.  One of my goals for my students is to foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

I am proud to be a Golden Eagle at Live Oak. This is my 17th year as a teacher of kindergarten and 1st- grade students. I’m here to listen, share and foster a love of learning.

I am a Tarheel, a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. I worked as a marketing manager upon moving to
California. My teaching career began with my own children. When they went to school, I did, too. I
volunteered in their classrooms and also subbed. I received my teaching credential and Masters of
Arts in curriculum and planning through Chapman University. I have been in my dream job ever
since.

This is going to be a great year! I look forward to working with my students to become independent readers, writers, and problem-solvers.

I am so excited to be teaching a kindergarten/first-grade class at Live Oak this year, it is going to be lots of fun!

I grew up in San Ramon and I am so happy to be teaching in the community that raised me.  I received my bachelor's degree in global studies with a minor in education from UC Santa Barbara (GO GAUCHOS!) and then went on to get my multiple subject teaching credential and master's from UC Davis.  My teaching career started in Oakland Unified School District, where I taught for five years. I was fortunate enough to join the Live Oak staff in 2017 and have loved being part of this amazing community ever since!

This year is going to be full of exciting learning, building class community, and enjoying our time together.  I am looking forward to getting to know our amazing students and seeing all the great things that the year has in store for us!
